Boyd Gaming Reports Strong Q3 Earnings and Positive Outlook

Boyd Gaming, a prominent player in the gaming industry, recently unveiled its financial results for the third quarter, and the outlook appears positive! Their overall revenue experienced a respectable surge of 4%.

This isn’t merely a minor uptick – it represents a substantial rise from $843 million in the third quarter of 2021 to a robust $877 million this year. Moreover, it’s not solely revenue that is displaying favorable signs. Their net earnings witnessed a considerable leap as well, surpassing the previous year’s figures comfortably, reaching $157 million in contrast to $138 million during the corresponding period last year.

Although their earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDAR) saw a marginal decrease to $3.37 billion compared to $3.4 billion the year prior, it’s evident that Boyd Gaming continues to perform exceptionally well. This notion is further supported by their earnings per share, which registered a strong $1.46, a notable increase from $1.21 in the third quarter of 2021.

Keith Smith, the President and CEO of Boyd Gaming, conveyed his positive sentiment regarding their performance. He underscored their emphasis on their primary customer demographic and the company’s ongoing endeavors to enhance efficiency. This strategy, in his view, is aiding them in effectively navigating the prevailing economic climate.

Smith also emphasized the substantial free cash flow generated by their operations, allowing them to distribute nearly $500 million to shareholders this year. He expressed confidence in their strategic direction and their capacity to prosper even amidst uncertain economic conditions.

Shares for Boyds have experienced a gradual yet consistent upward trend in the last five trading sessions, increasing by a little less than 4%. This is despite the fact that the organization has not yet published its financial results for the quarter. This implies market participants are hopeful about the potential outcome of those figures.
