XLMedia Appoints Caroline Ackroyd as New Chief Financial Officer

Caroline Ackroyd has formally assumed her position as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of XLMedia, a prominent international digital media organization. This action follows an earlier statement issued by XLMedia on November 2, 2021.

Ackroyd possesses a wide range of expertise in the field. She succeeds Rowan Ellis, who held the interim CFO role following Iain Balchin’s exit in July 2021. Ellis will return to his prior position as a financial advisor and will facilitate a seamless transition.

Ackroyd will also become a member of XLMedia’s board of directors, collaborating with CEO Stuart Simms and non-executive directors Julie Mackie, Richard Rosenberg, Jonas Martensson, Ory Weihs, and Sagi Noff.

“I am thrilled to join XLMedia and eager to collaborate with the team to expand upon the solid groundwork already established and achieve the next exciting stage of expansion,” Ackroyd stated when her appointment was revealed last November.

Prior to joining XLMedia, she held the CFO position at Sheffield-based media firm Jaywing starting in 2020. Previously, Ackroyd served as CFO at the video conferencing company Push Doctor.

Ackroyd’s tenure at Sky Betting & Gaming, where she was the Commercial Finance Director from 2015 to 2018, will be highly beneficial in her new capacity. Before that, she held the Deputy Finance Director role at Sky Betting & Gaming from 2006 to 2011.

Caroline contributes a significant depth of knowledge to XLMedia from her time in the gaming sector, specifically her role as CFO of Gala Coral Group spanning more than two years.

“It gives me great pleasure to welcome Caroline, a seasoned financial expert, to XLMedia as a member of both the leadership team and the Board,” remarked CEO Stuart Simms during the announcement of her appointment in November.

“Caroline’s comprehensive grasp of our industry will offer invaluable perspectives, particularly considering our substantial advancements within the American sports wagering market.”
